Before taking this exam, the candidate needs to be at least fifteen years of age, with at least a passing grade in his last Primary School Diploma (PSD), High School Diploma (HSD) or College or university degree. A copy of his birth certificate is also required. The candidate can take a refresher course from the institute if he fails the first two exams. There is no pre-requisite of previous educational qualifications of the applicant.
The applicant needs to prepare mentally for the exam and there are certain steps that need to be followed. It is not mandatory for him to prepare his answers personally. There are plenty of preparatory tests that can be used by the candidates to sharpen their pencils and papers and improve their thinking power. It is suggested that they should start their preparations by preparing their questions so that they can have a clear idea of the subject matter on which they are going to answer. There are numerous preparatory courses provided by the institute for free as well.
When taking the exam, the applicant should know about the type of question paper and the format of the exam. He should also know about the rules and procedures used in taking the exam. It is important to remember that the exams are very tough. If he knows how to answer the difficult questions, he can succeed in this exam.
An important thing that every candidate must keep in mind is that the answers he gives in the exam will be used in his later career. He should therefore make sure that he is using the correct mathematical expressions and formulas while giving his answers and that he is familiar with them.
The examination is also divided into two sections: the arithmetic and the verbal section. The arithmetic section includes both subtraction and addition of objects or quantities and the addition and subtraction of quantities, while the verbal section is concerned with solving problems regarding the concept of numbers.
The math questions in the exam are written in two different styles: the logical style and the intuitive style. In the logical style of the exam, the applicant has to provide his own assumptions about the concepts involved, and the logical structure of the problem. The interviewer will provide him the right answers and deductions. There are a number of different kinds of problems and these include real life scenarios and mathematical problems like geometric forms, sums, algebraic equations etc. In the intuitive style, the interviewer provides questions that the candidate has to answer without any prior knowledge or experience.
The interviewer will have to give many kinds of explanations about the topics in order to help the candidate to answer the questions correctly. The questions are not necessarily too difficult. However, the questions are designed in such a way that they are difficult for the candidate to answer correctly. As the candidate gets prepared for the exam, it is important to remember that he should concentrate on only the main points and try to understand the problems.
During the practice test, the candidate has to solve a math problem that has been given to him without any prior knowledge. After having answered all the questions correctly, he should then ask himself why he failed to solve the problem in a proper manner. This problem should provide him an insight into his weak points so that he can correct his errors and learn from his mistakes. In doing so, he can avoid making the same mistakes in the future and improve his scores.
There are two ways to approach solving the test; the first one is to analyze the problem, second one is to provide the correct answers to the questions asked by the interviewer. A successful candidate should use both methods to improve his scores and he should not rely only on one method alone.
There are a number of books that are available that provide tips and tricks in answering the test. Reading these books will help the applicant to solve problems and to understand the types of problems that the test requires.
